Kakegurui started as a manga in 2014, receiving an anime adaptation that premiered about three years later. A MAPPA studio production, the series was distributed outside Japan by Netflix, as well as expanding into various other media, including games and light novels. The plot of Kakegurui takes place in a somewhat peculiar school: instead of caring about grades or sports, the important thing for these students are the bets, which can define not only their school status, but their entire future.
